Aside from Discard, I'm not sure if there is a more reviled deck archetype. Eggs may be close though :)
The deck runs many of the staples you would expect to find, but I wanted to try something new with the interaction between Alesha, Who Smiles at Death and Fulminator Mage
Combo Pieces and Win-con:
Attacking with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death bring back an attacking Fulminator Mage and then sacking the Mage after damage seems like a win-win.
Pack Rat --> Sometimes it's a bit slow in legacy, but if left alone it can dominate the game.
Choking Sands
--> Kill any land and deal 2 damage if non-basic.
Pillage
--> I was tempted to replace this with Icequake, but I wanted to keep the option of killing an artifact without having to use a 'kill artifact' only card.
Sinkhole --> What's not to like about this card! 2 mana kill any land...
Wasteland --> Mainstay of non-basic land destruction
Fulminator Mage --> Great card on its own, but when paired with Alesha, it becomes a monster land killer.
Supporting Spells:
Duress --> to help keep my creatures alive and/or break up non-creature based combos.
Thoughtseize --> because we're playing black :)
Diabolic Edict --> Gets around True-Name Nemesis and Dark Depths.
Go for the Throat --> Decent Removal.
Dark Ritual --> Fuels that early
Choking Sands
or Sinkhole + Discard spell. Lets me get the jump on my opponents mana production and hopefully lock them down early.
I'm still very unsure of the sideboard so feedback will be most welcome.
Thanks!
