Sharuum the Hegemon

Commander / EDH

Ben_J23

Hey guys this is my first go at making a commander deck. Ive always loved artifacts and the color blue, so Sharuum is the perfect commander for me. Im always looking to improve the deck, so any constructive criticism is much appreciated!

This deck plays as a combo deck with small control aspects in place so that you can have enough time to find your combo pieces. The deck is built around one main combo, the one that is most often associated with Sharuum. Our entire gameplan is finding our combo and using it to kill the opponents, so if you are somebody who likes to win from combat damage I would not recommend this deck...it barely runs any creatures!

Combos: we can use Phyrexian Metamorph // Sculpting Steel + Sharuum the Hegemon to create an infinite loop of creatures and/or artifacts going to and from the graveyard. If Phyrexian Metamorph is in the graveyard or our hand, we target it with Sharuums recursion ability as she comes into play. This reanimates Phyrexian Metamorph. As it is cast, we target Sharuum with its copy ability. This makes a copy of Sharuum, and do to the legendary rule, we have to sacrifice her. Now that Metamorph enters the battlefield, since its a copy of Sharuum we can return an artifact from our graveyard into play. We of course target Sharuum, the process repeats over and over again. This would do nothing, but if we have Disciple of the Vault on the board since things repeatedly enter the graveyard, it allows us to do infinite damage. With Bitter Ordeal, the gravestorm trigger can equal as much as you want and you can exile your opponents entire library, causing them to lose at the beginning of their next turn.

To find our combo we have tutors and cards that let us dig, along with the combo of Ad Nauseam + Angel's Grace . This allows us to draw our entire deck without dying, and with our 0 mana artifacts, we will almost always be able to set up our main combo. We have the infinite mana combo of Auriok Salvagers + Lion's Eye Diamond to be sure we can go off.

So thats the basis of the deck. If you have critiques, just drop a comment!

One final note: DO NOT play this deck in a casual setting. People will hate you as it is extremely competitive.
