This deck follows most of the basics of Abzan strategy, mainly bolstering on counters and gaining effects for creatures with counters.
Dragonscale General
: Great card overall. Allows to add counters on creatures at the end of the turn to prepare to protect me during my opponent's turn.
Nissa's Expedition
: Works like the
Elvish Mystic
s by allowing me to use creatures and ramp for more mana.
Ainok Guide
: I especially like this card. It can either help early game to ramp mana, or be used later to gain effects other creatures with counters gain.
Ainok Bond-Kin
, Abzan Falconer, Abzan Battle Priest, and Mer-Ek Nightblade: Give additional effects to creatures with counters. Especially good to get First Strike and Deathtouch earlier in the game.
Ivorytusk Fortress
: Once this creature is on the field, I can worry much less on defending and more on attacking, because it allows creatures to untap. I would use Brave the Sands, but
Ivorytusk Fortress
works much better in tangent with
Dragonscale General
.
Armament Corps
,
Reap What Is Sown
,
Feat of Resistance
,
Dragonscale Boon
, and
Incremental Growth
: Add counters to any creatures I want, not just the one with the lowest toughness.
Citadel Siege: Can be used well for either of its effects. If there aren't enough counters, Or at lest counters on what I want, I can choose Dragons to put buff any creature I want. Or, in ate game, I can use it to prevent an opponent's creature from doing anything.
Abzan Ascendancy:In a tight bind, this card can give every creature benefits. Also makes flying Spirits that can benefit from Bolster, if there aren't already any Abzan Falconers.
