When I first went to FNM, I was hellbent on using my Mono- (((kind of) competetive) budget) Vampires List. I was able to steal a few wins with it, but quickly figured out that the deck is just not good enough. Especially the sideboard options you get in black.

Still determined to make it work, I therefore decided to go Mardu. That gives access to additional lords in Legion Lieutenant and Stromkirk Captain, as well as a lot of great sideboard cards.

The current build has a suboptimal mana base. Especially more Fetches (to shuffle for Vampire Nocturnus) would go a long way.

Better Lands as well as a few great sideboard options are in the Maybeeboard.
