Sideboard

See updates as I build this. Originally copied from another deck on TappedOut which I've apparently lost the link to. It was very similar to an already started Jeskai Homebrew, but a bit more focused as I couldn't quite decide whether I wanted heavier burn, heavier control, or heavier tokens. I feel like ditching the control in favor of heavier burn and using the Monastery Mentor as your primary token generator is a more efficient build, so I went with it.

4 Rounds for Tuesday-night Standard.

Match 1: Playing against BUG control, went 1-2. Biggest issue is I didn't have good answers for Planeswalkers. First loss was largely due to mana screw, but my opponent was able to get a Garruk, Apex Predator on the board. The second match I got owned by 9/9s thanks to Kiora, the Crashing Wavefoil and an inability to burn her down quickly enough from bad draws and my Treasure Cruise being countered.

Match 2: Played against Red Deck Wins/Hyper-Aggro, went 1-2. This was just a speed match-up, I did well on both losses. Game 1 he took, I SBed against him effectively with Anger of the Gods being a big piece. Game 2 I won with a Stoke the Flames + Wild Slash to clench it. Game 3 I had a Stoke the Flames + Wild Slash in my hand, but my opponent was at 7 life and I was at 4, and he top-decked a Stoke the Flames to win.

Match 3: Got the bye.

Match 4: Played against Temur AggroMancy (Ascendancy + Hydra + Sabertooth combo). Went 0-2. Even after sideboarding in Exiles and and other stuff, I was unable to disrupt his combo effectively enough to burn him down. He'd happily take the damage, leaving me higher in life (game 1 I got to 33 life before he killed me one turn going infinite). I just wasn't fast enough because I was drawing land when I needed gas, and drawing gas when I needed land. Very difficult deck to do anything about unless you're playing hard control.

No changes planned, as I think the current deck is pretty good, although I was able to get some of the lands I needed in trades on Tuesday before I started playing

-2 Tranquil Cove
+2 Flooded Strand

-1 Swiftwater Cliffs
+1 Shivan Reef
