My best friend actually made this list for me, so I have added his initial write-up and notes here. This is Primarily a Jund Lands deck with a reanimator subtheme. A lot of these cards were taken from the EDHrec page, as most are, but I added in a few personal touches stemming from my own personal reanimator MVPs. The name of the game with this deck is resource denial, using Vaevictus and deck stacking tools in jund to to get rid of the most annoying parts of your opponent’s deck and cheating out yours simultaneously. One of the easiest ways to do this is to continually sacrifice your drownyard temple and return it. This is helped along by The Gitrog Monster who wants you to sacrifice lands, but allows you to play two a turn. Drownyard recurs itself, but can be easily helped with crucible and excavator. Boardwipes are almost nonexistent in this list, frankly because you don’t need them. Your general should handle enough threats especially if you are able to cheat him out early. I included Genesis wave because a lands deck needs a second win condition, and this is one of the best. Avenger is especially nice as a finisher, and you could very easily swap out some of the reanimator aspect for extra lands per turn with stuff like Exploration, Wayward Swordtooth, or Mina and Denn for a budget minded list. Speaking of that, most of these cards are affordable, but several, including some that I consider staples are not. You can run the deck without them, but it becomes vastly underpowered very quickly. Because of that, I will say that Scroll Rack, Top, and library are necessary for this strategy to work. Now onto the lands, any land that makes itself easy to put in the yard is awesome. You’re going to be able to return most lands fairly quickly, and lands that sac themselves make the frog very happy. That being said, if you can’t afford Verdant Catacombs, run Krosan Verge instead, it just blocks you a little out of black. I don’t run all the fetches just because that’s stupidly expensive and you don’t need or want all of them.
Final Notes: I originally made this list as reanimator deluxe with upside, but I honestly think the land route is better. This is not a cEDH list at all, but I think it is powerful enough to win quite a few games. For possible substitutions, I could see scapeshift easily going in this list, as well as greater good. Besides that, any other cards that give you card or board advantage are great options as well. My top picks include Dictate of Erebos and Grave Pact. I went with Harvester this list just because it gives card draw, and that’s more important for the current build. Also, as you can tell this a mainly permanents based deck, your general needs to haul most of the weight of removal, since that’s what he’s best at. I hope this list works for you, and sorry about the million miles of write-up, but I felt that I should say what’s going through my brain and the different combos I see.
