Goblin Synergies
Conspicuous Snoop
reveals the top card of your library and copies the abilities of any goblin there. Since the deck is stacked with creatures, you'll have a high chance of copying abilities like
Krenko, Mob Boss
. It also allows you to play the top card of the library, giving you card advantage. For example Snoop turn 2, after your draw step, chieftain's on top. Snoop now gives haste and goblins cost 1 less allowing you to play krenko and imdeatilty use his ability.
Legion Loyalist
and
Goblin Chieftain
enable goblins to push past defenses with first strike, trample, haste, and +1/+1.
Goblin Piledriver
together
Legion Loyalist
means huge damage trampling over the creature blocking it
Goblin Grenade
is
Shrapnel Blast
for goblins, a versatile bomb that'll usually finish the game.
Lightning Bolt
is the best burn spell in modern. A quick answer to early an mana dork, finish off a stronger creature, finish off your opponent. If you play red you'll want a playset of them.
Experimenting
2x
Goblin Ringleader
(Typically a 3 of in top competitive
Aether Vial
goblin decks.) It's good card to restock your hand with, at 4 mana having
Goblin Warchief
makes it a little easier to cast even with only twenty mountains.
2x
Goblin Matron
(Typically a 4 of in top competitive
Aether Vial
goblin decks.) Can fetch Krenko or another missing piece of the puzzle but its slow, is it better to play more aggressively and hope for the best?
Warren Instigator
rarely gets the chance to cast a free goblin but it's still a 2 mana 1/1 with double strike lightning rod. I'm debating on whether to use the budget friendlier alternatives bushwacker goblin and reckless bushwacker instead. They are used more often in competitive goblin decks but already have a playset of
Warren Instigator
so its hard to decide.
Castle Embereth
is used in spirit with the bushwacker strategy, the only downside is that if its your only land on turn 1 you might fall behind.
Considerations
Mogg Fanatic
might be good but I can't fit in atm, perhaps something else to experiment with.
Mogg War Marshl Might seem weak but having multiple bodies to enable cards like
Legion Loyalist
is a key part in the aggro strategy. It's generally better than
Krenko's Command
and
Goblin Instigator
because it's essentially three bodies. However, if your on turn 3 without a lord you only have 1 token that can attack. In that situation you might consider paying the echo cost.
Goblin Guide
is best in slot turn 1 as it's a 2/2 with haste.
Goblin Chainwhirler
was a scary card when it was in standard, could be a good side board option against 1/1 swarm like decks perhaps.
