The design of this deck is to use the Outlast secondary abilities (having a counter gives you this) by not having to use Outlast to get the counters. With cards like Ajani (both), Dragon Scale Boon and Incremental Growth I can drop out counters to pump and get the abilities without have to keep tapping my creatures. Using the Phalanx Leader is the quickest way to do this.

It then runs things like Hardened scales to help double the counters I drop (a lot of add 1 counter so adding another one is basically doubling). This with things like Phalanx Leader means I'm dropping several counter with all my pumps.

The goal is to keep pumping up and turning sideways. With issues around permanents causing me headaches such as removal and big creatures the Banishing Lights will solve several things. End Hostilities in the side for any other big creature decks that slow me down or if I get wiped.

It is light on counters with only things like Feat of Resistance to help give protection. Was considering splashing in blue to run a few counters in the sideboard to allow for some help if I go up against creature kill heavy decks such as board wipers. Still figuring that part out specifically, but hoping it can just pump and go.
