Came up with this idea when contemplating Gift of Immortality. The short answer is that this deck is built to abuse recurring enter the battlefield effects.

Butcher is a bomb by himself, but is also an excellent sac outlet. Gift can go on the Ripper for recurring deathtouch, the Brigade for recurring token generation, or the Doom Engine for recurring damage.

The Purphoros really makes Alarm and Outburst major threats, though this deck rarely gets enough devotion for him to become a creature anyways. He also synergizes well with the Brigade/Gift interaction.
