The deck revolves around using creatures with different tapping abilities. Untappers allow the use of abilities more than once per turn, Pingers can be combined with auras and equipments to increase their impact, and creature draw abilities maintain card advantage for the deck. Another point I'll add is that the commander isn't a central focus. The deck functions perfectly fine without Animar. The only reason Animar was chosen is because it has the most helpful ability for creatures in its colours.
