Hello and welcome to my take on a Karlov Lifegain deck. This deck can definitely do some powerful stuff even though omitting infinite combos and fast mana is how i try to keep this deck casual. This deck sits in the mid-power casual “tier”, not strong enough for competitive, but too strong for precon level decks. At this power level this deck has a win percentage of 24% with the average win taking place around turn 9.

The goal of this deck is to gain a lot of life. However your commander triggers based on the amount of Lifegain triggers rather than the amount of life itself. Getting Karlov to commander damage range is really easy so use cards like Rogue's Passage and Shizo, Death's Storehouse to make it unblockable.

Some cards I’d like to highlight include Test of Endurance and Felidar Sovereign which will win you the game during your upkeep if you have a certain amount of life. Also Aetherflux Reservoir is not only a great wincon but also a deterrent. If you have more than 50 life you can hold it as a threat to make sure people don’t mess with you. Cards like Rhox Faithmender make sure every instance of Lifegain gets doubled. And finally you can use Sanguine Bond and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose to weaponize that Lifegain by draining your opponents.
