Amulet of Vigor combo deck, If you're not quite sure how this deck works, go ahead and click on "How it works", be warned that I am quite sarcastic and its probably really cheesy but I enjoyed writing it so I don't care.. If you already know about this deck, skip that section and keep reading. The Nature's Claim, and Seal of Primordiums are in sb for the worst card ever printed, that being Blood Moon, which literally makes this deck worthless. Even then my plan against moon is pray they don't draw it. I like Engineered Explosives and Chalice of the Void against decks with a lot of similar costed creatures like Merfolk, or affinity.Leyline of Sanctity and Sigarda, Host of Herons is there against jund and their discard/sacrifice (My main testing partner plays a mean jund deck). Hornet Queen and Pyroclasm are there to stop wide decks like elves and again, affinity. Thragtusk and Ruric Thar, the Unbowed are for decks like burn, or decks that can get rid of my creatures so they will be punished if they try.And finally Slaughter Pact is there in case I go against a deck were I need to remove a threat immediately, such as Ezuri, Renegade Leader or a Cranial Plating on an Ornithopter. fell free to ask any questions or offer advice on the deck!

How It Works

Alright, so you want to learn how this deck operates do you?

"Yeah, It looks like the most totally cool deck in modern, I just wish I had someone to tell me how it works..."

Well you my friend have come to the right place, for I know the secrets on how the most awesome, sexy, and the-combo-thats-not-twin deck in modern works! let's begin with three cards...

1.) Amulet of Vigor

2.)Summer Bloom

3.)Simic Growth Chamber

Now, what do these cards have in common?

"Uh... They do absolutely nothing productive?"

Correct, each on their own do absolutely nothing. However put them together and you have a spicy 6 mana prime time sub sandwich ready to serve with a side of haste, vigilance, and +2/+0 on turn 2!

"Good golly that sounds amazing!"

Haha and it is! Now let's get into turning these ingredients into a yummy (and terrifying) spread for your prime time sandwich! Alright, So it's probably best to start out with a serving of an untapped land on turn 1, such as Gemstone Mine or Forest or any land that enters untapped. Now you're going to use that land to mix in an Amulet of Vigor for that flavor that really stands out. Next turn you're going to want to go ahead and throw in a Simic Growth Chamber, or any bounceland, to let that mana total rise in the oven when things start to get hot, and boy are they about to get hot! After you place that bounceland on the field you have to act fast, the mixture is only going to be ready for the next stage for a very short time, or the whole thing will be ruined, you're going to want to make sure the bounceland's "return to hand" ability, goes on the stack before the Amulet's trigger, so that when the stack resolves, the land will untap and be ready to add spicyness before it has to return a land to your hand. Tap it to throw in 2 cups of chili powder, and then go ahead and return that land to your hand, you'll be using it later. Now your spread for the sandwich is done! But you still need bread and meat, because no good sandwich can be made without meat and bread... or any sandwich for that matter! Go ahead and look around in your pantry for that good old fashioned Summer Bloom Bakery's wheat bread, because white bread is for scrubs. Cast that onto the table and repeat the process you did for making the saucy sauce And you should find yourself with 6 heaping cups of mana just ready for the taking!

"Well that's good in all, but what ever will I do with all this mana on turn 2?"

Well I'm glad you asked Anon, because I have some answers for you! Stepping away from food because that last bit made me way too hungry, you can either play Primeval Titan and search crazy stuff up like Slayers' Stronghold and Boros Garrison and give it haste! on turn 2! My friends hate me sometimes! Or if you don't have that lil' rascal in your hand you could always settle for a Hive Mind instead.

"But... what does that do? that doesn't kill my opponent"

Oh just you wait, I'll explain everything in time. So there's these cards called "pacts", you ever heard of them?

"I think, those are those ones where they are free but you have to pay a cost at your upkeep or you lose the game?

Bingo! Like Summoner's Pact, Slaughter Pact, and Pact of Negation. Now all these have this sweet little addition to the card's effect that you already pointed out, that you have to tap mana for them on your next upkeep for them or you lose. Well with Hive Mind you can be really generous and give all your opponents copies of these pacts! Sharing truly is caring here at MTG! So what if they lose on upkeep if they can't pay for the pact that they cast completely unwillingly? You gave that Twin player ANY green card from his deck. He will thank you for it when he's scooping for game two.

"Wow! That truly is the deck that only truly sexy people can play in modern!"===endpanel
