Here is my red black modern deck, the plan is burn them,play efficient creatures, and smash their face (even maybe control the board).

Rakdos is underplayed in modern because some people believe that it is not good, but that is the beauty of this deck many modern players will not see this one coming. This deck has so many possibilities so every time you are playing this your game plan can change from mid range to agrro/burn.

What Im running- Vexing Devil Is an awesome card for burn 1 mana = 4 damage on turn one, Yes please, sounds to good to be true right... well many decks have an answer to this by removal. It dies to lightning bolt and path to exile but if they don't let you sacrifice it it could be 8 damage and turn 3 before they kill it.

• Goblin Guide He swings for damage early on in the game and is very efficient Im running 2 but you can run more if you like him a lot.

• Abyssal Persecutor + Desecration Demon Wait what? Is the reaction for everybody when these guys comes down, think of it like this if a successful swing happens 6-7 damage also pair this up with Fling and bam tons of damage. They aren't modern powerhouses but it can get the job done. For Abyssal Persecutor you have so much removal in this deck to kill him so after 2-3 turns of him swinging you can always can remove him from the game.

• Vampire Nighthawk Lifeline and deathtouch and flying. Yep read those words again, this guy is a crazy mofo and should be in every deck for the life gain, favorable blocking, and for the evasion.

• The burn Bump in the Night + Lava Spike + Lightning Bolt 3 damage to the face for only 1 mana.

• Hand disruption Duress No fun for you combo players mahahaha! In all serious though hand disruption is good for anti combo and regular decks. If your a high roller you can use Inquisition of Kozilek + Liliana of the Veil + Thoughtseize

• Mana base. A discussion all by itself here is a simple run down. Shocklands are good along with fetchlands. Friendlands such as Dragonskull Summit are good for a 2 color deck. If your on a low budget its ok to use basics but remember you are not going to buy a 300,000$ lamborgini without wheels are you? At least try to optimize it in case you don't want to spent an arm and a leg or 70$.

What you can be running

• A more midrange style Demigod of Revenge + Faithless Looting for a interesting midrange combo for a turn 5 win.

• Even more burn Searing Blaze ect ect incase you don't like the big fatties but this can be problematic if the opponent sides in burn hate.

My plan is swap Duress for Thoughtseize when theros rotates out of standard so I can get it at a discount (hopefully).
