So with the final night and double points a 3-1 keeps me at the top of the list with Season 1 now in the books. 17-7 for the season isn't too bad but I think I might retire this one and do something different in Season 2.
Match 1: 2-0
Slivers vs Mono-Black
This mono black matchup wasn't all that hard. I was able to get out fast and strong both matches and so when the cards started to hit the field in their favor it was too little too late.
Match 2: 2-1
Slivers vs Mono-Blue
Same as it always is... I either do well fast upfront and they dont get enough air and counter the right things, or they drop multiple delvers and kill me in the air early while holding me back with counters... this time around it was the good side of the coin.
Match 3: 2-1
Slivers vs Hexproof
This was the matchup I had been waiting for all season and it wasn't a disappointment. Game one was an easy win with a few of the pump cards acting in my favor as he didnt expect them. Game 2 on the other hand was brutal... so many quick auras left me in a spot where I couldn't gain more than him and his First Strike starting weaking havok. Game 3 was the closest game in the fact he got me to 1 life before I was able to finish him off.
Match 4: 1-2
Slivers vs Mono-Blue
This was the matchup where I got the wrong side of the coin. So muc hair early on in each match it became very difficult to deal with as he waited with counters for my reach guys and cloaks. This truely is the deck to beat in this format.
Wrap-Up
So I haven't done this on a few of the last posts but all in all this was a great season. After seeing so many Mono Blue decks I truely believe this is the deck to beat. I think Mono Black is hard to deal with but with our local shop banning Chainer's Edict, Sinkhole, and Hymn to Tourach it has become a little less scary. I did decide I will not be like the crowd and play Mono Blue so its time to start designing what I want to play that isn't a current top deck like I did with the Slivers... Rebels anyone? RU Tron? Or maybe tokens... Guess we will just see :)
