Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder is a pretty neat fella. Cascade as a mechanic is inherently good (which, surprise surprise, is why we don't see it too much anymore) and combining it with a Land's Matter theme admittedly doesn't make too much sense. Pairing that alongside the fact that there are better Commanders who fit the job of a Land's Matter deck in this combination of colors with Thrasios, Triton Hero & Vial Smasher the Fierce , then that begs the question: why Yidris?

I dunno. I like him better. That's about it.

A few key things:

1. Yes, I am well aware of Avenger of Zendikar 's existence. However, I have noticed that in many of my green decks, it seems to just get shoved in because it's a good card that draws out removal or wins games. So, in quite possibly a very dumb decision, I have opted to exclude it from the list.
2. There are several cards in here that are going to be replaced as an eventuality. So don't you worry, I know Mana Reflection & Oracle of Mul Daya are cards. I just don't own them yet.
3. There are also a few pet cards in here, so I am aware that there are always better options. Just keep in mind that I may not listen because I enjoy a card too much.

So generally the win-cons, as of right now, are:

• Scapeshift into just about ANY Landfall/Land ETB trigger.
• An entwined Rude Awakening .
• Yidris is a 5/4 with trample. Commander damage is always an option. Shizo, Death's Storehouse & Whispersilk Cloak helps us get him through if there's any big bodies in our way. These cards also help some of our bigger bodies outside of Yidris get through, such as Arixmethes, Slumbering Isle & Maelstrom Wanderer .
