Budget Control is something I've wanted to build for the longest time, and I managed to scrape by in Standard. Sure I wasn't winning anything above an FNM, but I held my own against some big buck decks with some of my favorite decks.
Anyway, cut to now when I've lost RtR in standard, and feel that it's gotten progressively more boring and less diverse. I started to play Modern, and while my first few decks were really pants, I've learned to try and build better. After more than a year, I've gone through 2 competitive budget lists, and grown bored of each in turn (UR Delver and WB Tokens). I wanted to go back to my roots: Control. I've toyed around a helluva lot with colour combinations, win cons, acceptable budget levels, etc, and I'm still not happy with the result. I found a primer for Sultai control and I pulled some from it, but didn't agree with all of it.
Without further ado: My explination of each card:

If you like this deck, but are looking for something a little different, don't worry as I plan to be brewing several different 3 color control decks, and maybe a few 2 and 4 color ones, all with a budget cap of 100 dollars with sideboard!
I intend to have lists available for 1 to four colours, though as not all colour combos work nicely for control you might not see one in your favourite colours. If this is the case, and if you'd like me to have a crack at a budget list in those colours, or if you'd like me to take a crack at a specific control style (say, Teachings control), just send me a pm!
