After dabbling with a grixis tempo prowess deck last year I felt the deck was slower than I'd have liked. I opted to convert it to a Grixis Death shadow variant due to the way the deck was playing against my brother's Jeskai Nahiri deck since I felt like I needed a faster clock. Playing again Burn I opted to add timely to the sideboard and for the control match up added Geist of Saint Traft to Timely Reinforcements
The card draw suite is Serum Visions, Sleight of Hand, and Mishra's Bauble.
For control making sure it's safe to go for the battle rage I'm playing Thoughtseize, and Surgical Extraction.
Lightning Bolt and Collective Brutality help with small creature removal.
The 2 copies of Noxious Revival are a general toolbox card that can speed the clock up or be used for mana fixing.

Playing against Burn I opted to add Timely Reinforcements, Stubborn Denial, Pyroclasm, Collective Brutality to the sideboard and for the control match up added Geist of Saint Traft to help dodge removal and another Thoughtseize. Hurkyl's Recall is for artifact problems. Engineered Explosives as a random problem solver.
