Maybeboard

Around three-fourths of the cards in this deck are from one of the nine Ravnican expansions, the Izzet Guild Kit, or the Izzet vs. Golgari Duel Deck, or else are very obviously from Ravnica despite being printed in another set, like Mizzix's Mastery or Jace's Sanctum. I still tried to restrict the remaining quarter, half of which are nonbasic lands, to cards that fit the theme of Izzet. Obviously, this deck will not be the most competitive, but it is my hope that it will have a decent amount of synergy and, most importantly, be reasonably balanced against other casual decks. I also left around a hundred cards that were cut from the final build in the Maybeboard section, so there's a lot of options if anyone wants to make the deck more competitive or remove all of the non-Ravnican cards.

If anyone's curious, this deck was made to comply with the deck-building constraints that my friends and I created, at least as of October 2021. To elaborate, a deck consists of 100 cards (including your commander) worth $1 or less, except 1 card can be worth up to $100, 5 additional cards can be worth up to $20, and as many as 20 other cards can be worth up to $5. In addition, a player can upgrade an extra card to $5/$20 for every 2 lands in that category. Use the TCGplayer market price for a card's cheapest variant when evaluating prices, except Sol Ring is considered to be worth $100.

Win Conditions: either by reducing each of your opponents' life totals to zero or by drawing your entire deck while you control Jace, Wielder of Mysteries

Combo 1: With any instant or sorcery spell on the stack, cast an instant that can copy the first spell, like Reiterate or Expansion / Explosion, and then follow up with another copying instant or activated ability, such as those found on the Guildmages. Have the 2nd copy spell become the 1st copy spell, which will create another spell that can in turn be used to copy the 1st one, etc. This infinte stream of copies can be be combined with a number of cards, most notably Ral, Storm Conduit, Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Deekah, Fractal Theorist. Ral will deal infinite damage to your opponents, Emeritus will allow you to draw as many cards from your library as you desire (and immediately win if you are able to play Jace, Wielder of Mysteries), Stormkiln will create infinite Treasure tokens which can then be sacrificed to generate infinite mana of every color, and Deekah will create an endless army of Fractal creatures.

Combo 2: Draw a card with both Body of Knowledge and either Niv-Mizzet, Parun or Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind in play. Use Niv-Mizzet's ability to damage Body of Knowledge, which in turn draws you a card and increases its power and toughness by 1, etc. After drawing your entire library, you can play Jace, Wielder of Mysteries and activate his +1 ability to win.

Combo 3: Play Dualcaster Mage while a creature-copying spell, like Quasiduplicate, is on the stack. By making your copy of the spell target Dualcaster Mage, you can create an infinite army of 2/2 tokens.
