Quick write-up as I forgot to do it the day after.
Round 1 : Jeskai Thing in the Ice 2-0
This match was incredibly easy. Game 1 he put me to 1, but to do that he tapped out for burn spells, I had counters but saved them for going off with Scapeshift. Game 2 we both played draw go, I assume he boarded in a lot of countermagic. I EOT Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir he read the card for a while let it resolve and packed it in when I showed the Scapeshift, turns out he had 2x Negate 1x Dispel in hand.
Round 2 : U/R Storm 2-0
I think my opponent misplayed this matchup, after the match he said he just takes his time versus control, but since I have a combo finish I feel like he just gave me infinite time to set up. Game 2 an EOT Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir cleared the way for the combo.
Round 3 : U/R Possibility Storm 2-0
I love Possibility Storm i'll likely build a jeskai version for myself. Combo-Control FTW. With his list I'm incredibly favored game 1 where he has removal and sweepers in. Game 2 was a little rough with Leyline of Sanctity and Blood Moon, but a timely Back to Nature put me back in the game. the game was slipping away after he resolved jace, the mind sculpter and began +2 fateseal. After 2 turns though the top of my library was stacked Bring to Light then Scapeshift so I got the win, I think he should have won this game due to my draw, but overall the matchup seems favored.
Round 4-5 Draw
End 3-0-2
Takeaways: Don't cut Back to Nature from your sideboards, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir has been insane. Obstinate Baloth has been underperforming lately, I might try having only 1 in the side for either a Slaughter Games, another Ancient Grudge, or Pulse of Murasa.
