Here is Anafenza back in action. I felt she was lost in the spirit world, but with dredge growing in popularity she is needed once again in the realm of the living.

The card choices

Anafenza, the Foremost: Stops dredge in its tracks, combos nicely with Hardened Scales & Thalia's Lieutenant

Hardened Scales: Almost everything will trigger a counter placement in this deck. You will see this causes things to get out of hand rather quickly. I have seen turn 4 lethal because of this card.

Viscera Seer: I umm whaaaa?? C'mon! Deck fixing?, chump blocking, life gain, value... Pair this 1 drop with Zulaport Cutthroat, Doomed Traveler you get Scry, life drain/life gain and a 1/1 flyer! Nuff said!

Thalia's Lieutenant: Beast!! With a Hardened Scales & Anafenza, the Foremost in play this guy gets crazy big crazy fast.

Ideal Scenario

T1: Play land Overgrown Tomb if able, play either Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, or Viscera Seer.

T2: Play land Plains, then Hardened Scales, and Doomed Traveler. Swing 1 if able. opponent life = 19 asuming no fetch & shock has occured

T3: Land, play Anafenza, the Foremost swing 2 if able. opponent life = 17

T4: Land, Play Thalia's Lieutenant put (2) +1/+1/ counters on Anafenza, the Foremost = 6/6 and Doomed Traveler = 3/3. Move to combat, swing all; Anafenza, the Foremost = 6, Doomed Traveler = 5, Viscera Seer = 3, for 14 damage. Opponent life = 3. This is likely lethal as fetch & shock is almost certain in modern.

Other considerations: Use Viscera Seer & Doomed Traveler to set up draws or chump block.

Hand disruption and removal: Thoughtseize, Inquisition of Kozilek, Abrupt Decay, and Path to Exile clear the path and get rid of pesky cards before they hit the field.
