The entire idea is to abuse the amazing enter the battlefield triggers in Grixis.

Our triggers come from Goblin Dark-Dwellers, Noxious Gearhulk, Combustible Gearhulk, and Torrential Gearhulk. These creatures all give us a 2-for-1 except Combustible Gearhulk, and that gives us insane value instead.

Six mana is obviously a big investment, so we need a way to 1) get to the late game and 2) protect our investment. Our early game disruption takes the form of Grasp of Darkness, Ruinous Path, Unlicensed Disintegration, and Transgress the Mind/harsh scrutiny. To protect our investment in the later game, we have Essence Flux which not only protects our creatures, but also generates additional etb triggers.

After that, all that's left is adding onto our already insane value train. To complement the immediate value of our creatures, we also have Chandra, Torch of Defiance and Ob Nixilis Reignited to provide us with long-term, incremental value.

The plan is to claw our way through the early game before slamming down unanswerable threats mid to late game.
