My favourite card in pauper has got to be Spellstutter Sprite! Nothing beats the feeling of countering a spell and basically getting a free 1/1 flyer for your trouble.

Side board choices

2 Dispel for other control decks

3 Hydroblast for burn and boros decks

2 Stormbound Geist for control decks

2 Nihil Spellbomb for graveyard reliant decks

2 Suffocating Fumes for go wide decks

Okiba-Gang Shinobi for tron or decks without many creatures

Unexpected Fangs and Mukotai Ambusher for burn

Notes of Interest

Most lists I've seen have been running 2 Dismal Backwater, which I chose to forgo for 2 Dimir Aqueduct. I figured Dimir Aqueduct would make hitting my initial land drops easier and the extra card in hand seemed better than the extra life. I've come to realize that it wasn't so simple. A starting hand with Dimir Aqueduct needs a Faerie Seer or you'll discard a card for hand size on turn 2. Dimir Aqueduct also shuts off your turn 2 while Dismal Backwater just turns off your turn 1. So at the end of the day while I still like Dimir Aqueduct, I'm strongly considering dropping them for Dismal Backwater.
