This Blue-Red spells deck is somewhat burn-centric, keeping the way clear for aggressive attacks and putting the opponent on the back foot. They must be as reactive as possible to keep up with a steady stream of spells flying in for direct damage and a consistent stream of creatures onto the board. The real game, however, is using Jhoira of the Ghitu to suspend and cast spells early that would otherwise demand swaths of mana and many more turns to resolve. Even a few suspended spells can set up for a wild sequence of turns that the opponent may not be equipped to manage. There is a lot of skill in the sequencing of these turns, seeing ahead in time to predict which will be most effective and in what order. Protecting Jhoira is a priority while she is on the battlefield to set up these sequences, but if she gets tagged, she is a relatively affordable commander to buyback. This deck intends to win by draining the opponent's life total; commander damage is rarely the aim.
