So I made a second Yarok deck Primer as you can see. This one is more focused around lands and their versatility. This is also probably my favorite Commander deck I have ever played.

This deck was intended to be a fun casual deck, but turned out to be more powerful than expected. It is extremely fun to play and can easily overwhelm the table with sheer value.

You will like this deck if you:

  1. Enjoy Playing Green

  2. Love decks with multiple and complex lines of play

  3. Like to manipulate "The Stack"

  4. Like having multiple avenues to victory

This deck is not for you if:

  1. You want to play a fast game from start to finish

  2. You don't want to make a lot of decisions

  3. You dislike combo decks or counter spells

  4. You don't like playing creatures

WHAT DOES THE DECK DO?

This deck seeks to win purely by out valuing opponents in the long game. We are a "lands matter" deck, so our goal is to win using mechanics such as landfall, and to utilize cards that sacrifice lands when they enter the battlefield. We also have some powerful lands that can help us close out the game as well. There is (purely by accident) an elemental sub-theme in the deck, too. I will explain this later.

UTILITY

The utility in this deck allows for us to combat any problem that could be thrown at us. Are artifacts a problem? Collector Ouphe is here with a solution. Is the Meren player trying to combo off with their graveyard? Crop Rotation for a Bojuka Bog and stop them at instant speed. Don't like what's on the board? How about Massacre Girl or Blast Zone.

RAMP

Because we are playing Collector Ouphe, our ramp is mostly in the form of creatures. Creatures such as Springbloom Druid, Priest of Titania, Incubation Druid, Azusa, Lost but Seeking, and Wood Elves all make up our ramp package so that we can maximize our available mana.

CARD DRAW

This deck has no problem with card draw. I actually had to put Thassa's Oracle in the deck just to keep from decking out. We have card draw in the form of cards like Baleful Strix and Elvish Visionary, but the creature that puts the most cards into our hand (and onto the battlefield) by far, is Risen Reef. This card is absurd. It triggers twice when it, our commander, or any other elemental enters the battlefield as long as we have our commander out. And with Titania, we can make a LOT of elementals. Risen Reef can draw us our deck if left unchecked.

I'll paint a picture for you. You have risen reef and Yarok out, and a fetch land in the graveyard. Lets just say its a Prismatic Vista. You play Titania. Here's what happens.

Titania enters the battlefield. Four triggers go on the stack.

  1. Risen reef triggers twice. Resolve those triggers.

  2. Two Titania triggers.

  3. The first trigger brings back the Vista.

  4. In response to the second Titania trigger you crack the Vista an find a land.

  5. Trigger Titania. Make an Elemental.

  6. Trigger Risen Reef Twice. Resolve those triggers.

  7. Get your land

  8. Second Titania ETB trigger resolves targeting the Vista

  9. Crack the Vista and repeat steps 5 - 7.

VALUE

WINNING THE GAME

We have many avenues to victory. Our first is to win by combat damage and just beat face with Titania, Protector of Argoth elementals, and beasts made by Rampaging Baloths. Scapeshift is also one of our main win conditions when combined with Field of the Dead and Titania, Protector of Argoth. If that doesn't work then we can go on the Marit lage plan, and using Thespian's Stage, create a 20/20 Flying & Indestructible creature that has to be answered. If they answer it, we can get the pieces of the combo back with Ramunap Excavator. If that still doesn't work, we can create infinite mana and loop Eternal Witness with Finale of Devastation, playing almost every creature in our deck and attacking for as much as we want with haste. Our last resort is to draw out with Thassa's Oracle.

Notable Ways to make infinite mana with Panharmonicon or Yarok out are :

Dream Stalker + Peregrine Drake

Peregrine Drake + Shrieking Drake

Cloud of Faeries + Shrieking Drake

Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake
