This decks starts with prowess creatures in Monastery Swiftspear and
Seeker of the Way
. Use some buffs to get some hard hits and lifegain. Then bring out the Hordeling Outburst to increase your creature count. Follow with Zada, Hedron Grinder and buff her to the win. If Gideon, Ally of Zendikar stops by to help, it's a great distraction for your opponent while you build your board state. Many games are won even without Zada's ability, but when you get to pull off a massive Zada combo it's awesome.
I own two Monastery Mentor which helps with the increasing creature count while also gaining synergy with more prowess monks. Two seems to be the sweet spot, as seeker's lifegain is usually needed more than the extra monks, but I could be wrong.
The
Fiery Impulse
provides some much needed removal and should be used to help keep the opponents board clear in the early game if you have it and it also triggers prowess.
Valorous Stance is a good toolbox card as I can use it for prowess triggers, keep one of my creatures alive, or destroy a big attacker/defender. It is also works well in defense if you target zada and give your whole team indestructible + a prowess trigger.
Defiant Strike
is good for getting extra cards + prowess and when targeting zada, gets you lots of cards.
When siding, I usually drop the Temur Battle Rage and get the best removal for the opponent. If the Fiery Impulse is a poor matchup, I might trade in some different removal. I am holding an extra Gideon in the board to see if it's worth buying. I currently only own one and am testing this deck online. I might side-out one or more zada's if the combo is unlikely for this opponent or if she is not adding much value.
I'm looking for some feedback and suggestions on possibly improvements for mainboard and sideboard. I know some people don't like Zada, but as soon as I saw this card spoiled I knew I wanted to play it.
