This deck mainly revolves around Liquimetal Coating and
Myr Landshaper
, everything else merely supplements them. In a perfect world you will have one of these, as well as a Elvish Mystic and
Splinter
, in your starting hand, and by turn three, you will be exiling the opponents manna source.
Of course, since you will very rarely have the optimal stating hand, I have added a few simple
Ancient Stirrings
to help get one out quicker, as well as Silent Arbiters in my side deck to slow the game down if needed to give me time to draw it and start doing damage.
Aggro decks are the biggest threat to this deck, so I'm using a few Whipflares to clear most of them out. Silent Arbiter is going to be important if they are running a really strong aggro deck. It will really help slow the game down so you can take out their manna source completely.
Then, I've added in two
Deus of Calamity
s to bring the muscle (and of course to wipe more of my opponents permanents out).
Tanglewalker
has been added to this deck and will bring some damage to table as most turns will now be unblockable.
Nearly all of my creature cards will be taking out an oppenents permanent when entering the battlefield. So not only are my permanents growing, the opponents permanents are dwindling... Almost every turn.
Combos:
This deck has a few solid combos with either Liquimetal Coating or
Myr Landshaper
:
Liquimetal Coating + Splinter
or Myr Landshaper
+
Splinter
to totally mana screw their entire deck. You can get this as early as turn 3... Ouch.
Deus of Calamity
+
Tanglewalker
will create a chaotic amount of battlefield mana destruction.
If you're willing to make this a more expensive deck, then Hellkite Tyrant + Mycosynth Lattice
+
Tanglewalker
may very well be another win con. However, I've never seen this combo work outside EDH since it is very mana heavy.
