Blue/White Control

Modern Control

Sideboard

WARNING: MAY CAUSE OPPONENTS TO THROW TANTRUMS. This deck was inspired by Azorius Control by Ivan Floch in M14 Pro Tour, and is designed purely to play with a control and stall strategy. The winning condition is a combination of Sphinx's Revelation and Master the Way. Do not expect to pull this combo off in less than 20 turns. So meanwhile, cycle through your deck with Foresees, Quickens, Azorius Charms, and mini-Fact or Fictions from Jace, and stall your opponents with Supreme Verdicts and Planar Cleansings powered by Quicken. Your opponents may just resign in boredom. But either way you'll win the game in about 30 minutes. There are 2 combos in your sideboard: Nyx-Fleece Ram, Archangel of Thune, and Elspeth, and Tamiyo, Young Pyromance, and Quicken. The first combo is pretty simple: bring out Ram and Archangel, generating a lot of counters, which power Elspeth's soldiers. The second combo requires Tamiyo to ultimate and playing Young Pyromancer, and at the end of their turns cycle Quicken as many times as possible. Since the wasted Quicken just goes back to your hand the only limit is your mana, and at the same time Young Pyromancer will give you a 1/1 for every time you cast it. Post-sideboard, when opponents likely get rid of some of their dead removal spells, so these 2 combos are likely to get through, and plus you can always protect them with counterspells. If, god forbid, you go up against another control player, board in dispel, gainsay, and counterflux, which are better counters against (especially blue) control.
