Have you ever built a deck, looked at it, and couldn't figure out what your angle was?

Well, take a look at my hodgepodge of a Jeskai deck. At first, I wanted it creature heavy, then control-based, and then I threw in burn. But, as you all can see most plainly, I couldn't decide what to do with this. The original idea was to make an all human jeskai deck heavy on control. I'd stay defensive until one of three things happen;

  1. Get enough creatures out and buff them for an assault.

  2. Get enough burn out to win.

  3. Get Azor's Elocutors and be as annoying as possible.

Thing is, I just don't like it for some reason. The deck play tests okay as it dances around acting like what I wanted, but I can't quite get it to do what I want all the time.

So, I turn to tapped out for suggestions. I've been out of Magic for years, so I just don't have a working knowledge of current cards and strategy. Sure, I'd pick up the occasional booster here and there, but I stopped playing competitively before leaving high school.

A few points: 1. I'm working with what I've got. I tried to include fairly recent cards, but most of my collection is Urza's block and later.2. I have access to a single mom and pops card shop, so my access to singles is limited.
3. I'm poor. Unless I pull them from a booster, I won't be able to get anything more expensive than five dollars.
