A first attempt at turbo-Biovisionary, capable of turn five wins (four with Elvish Mystic)!
Using Fated Infatuation you can make tokens of Biovisionary, which then allows you to abuse Selesnya's populate mechanic to rapidly get all four. An example of a turn 4 win is as follows;
Turn 1 - Breeding Pool, Elvish Mystic
Turn 2 - Breeding Pool, Biovisionary
Turn 3 - Island, Fated Infatuation on Biovisionary
Turn 4 - 2x Druid's Deliverance GG.
The removal of Elvish Mystic for the much sturdier Sylvan Caryatid means that this is no longer possible but turn seven wins are pretty frequent. Any help on getting the average win down to 6, or even 5 turns would be fantastic! Or failing that, some suggestions for protecting the combo would also be great.
The secondary win-con relies on copying your opponent's bigger creatures and the duplicating them as you would Biovisionary which could make for an interesting match up.
Anyway, here's the justification for my inclusions;
Biovisionary - Primary win-con.
Fated Infatuation - Creates tokens to be abused with populate.
Clone
- Cheap and easy copy of BV.
Progenitor Mimic
- This guys wins matches, especially in conjunction with
Growing Ranks
.
Stolen Identity
- I toyed with the idea of running an "unblockable" sub-theme to make this spell more effective but it's too slow to really thrive.
Elvish Mystic - RAMP!
Druid's Deliverance - Cheap, green populate spell with some aggro defense. Instant speed can be pretty helpful too.
Springleaf Drum - Mana fixing mainly, but also fodder for Sundering Growth; could probably be switched out pretty easily.
Growing Ranks
- Puts a two turn timer on the game if you've already got a BV token out; one turn if you did so with PM.
Sundering Growth - Another cheap populate, but requires something to destroy. This deck could be weak to Pithing Needle so this provides defense against that.
Dissolve - Standard defense against pretty much anything, and the scry can be helpful if you need to find a BV.
