Background

When I first got the idea for this deck, I had been working on my deck:Morophon Evolved deck and found a plethora of decks from others focusing on Creature Cheat, or fabricating a viable deck around Progenitus, or conjuring a theme relating to a beloved show. At first, I had gotten really into the idea of making Progentius a plausible card, because of my love for Hydras and brute-force tactics, but then, I took a step back and began to properly recognize just how singularly focused Hydras are.

Sure, there's exceptions like Benevolent Hydra and Kalonian Hydra amongst others, but the sheer amount of other "selfish" Hydras, for lack of a better descriptor, heavily outweigh the "selfless" ones. Because of some of the decks I had first glanced at, I was reminded of Jodah, Archmage Eternal, whom I had received from a friend several years previously, and thought: "Why not?"

After getting some inspiration from other decks and their builders, whom of which I will mention momentarily, eventually I created Extreme Couponing & Grand Larceny. To my surprise, it works better than I believed it would, despite the number of high cost cards and I'm reminded of another friend's Nicol Bolas deck with a Dragon theme, which, in theory, should not have worked. And yet, he, and subsequently, the rest of us, were swiftly shown why that was not the case.

Any thoughts, tips, or general advice is appreciated.
