UPDATE: They banned my probe and I am unhappy about this. So I am going to mess around with my list a bit. Right now I feel like legacy is in a bad spot due mainly to the rising cost of reserve list cards that are the basis for the format. I was halfway through building another deck when duals got bought out and I don't want to spend $1200 on 3 cards to finish it. So I am going to vent through gameplay for a bit.
Crop Rotation
package is going back in. 4x
Stifle
in the main. Let's get weird with this.
Started in modern, then converted to legacy about two years ago.
I keep changing my mind on some combination of
Sylvan Library
and/or
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
between the mainboard and sideboard. I find Jace better if/when I run
Become Immense
and Library better when I'm in a matchup where my life total is irrelevant. Going with Library for now.
I'm on the full 4/4 for both
Force of Will
and
Daze
in the main because I like taking a more-controlling approach to most matches.
I am running 2/2 between
Tropical Island
and
Breeding Pool
because I currently only have two Trops. It isn't so much a strategic decision as it is a financial one at the moment, but it has been relevant once when an opponent responded to my fetch by casting
Surgical Extraction
targeting a Trop he had
Wasteland
ed earlier. His confusion and anger when I fetched a Breeding Pool were entertaining.
I'm currently running two
Stifle
main. Conventional? No. Excellent? Yes! I was running one Stifle and one
Flusterstorm
in the main and one of each in the side as well, but this feels like it is better against more of the field.
I dropped the
Crop Rotation
package with the utility lands (
Wasteland
,
Bojuka Bog
,
Karakas
, etc.). In the main it made my mana and draws too clunky. In the side it just took up too much space and felt too narrow. I'm currently working on the sideboard, trying to figure out exactly what I want. I'm also not opposed to going the 4x
Tarmogoyf
sideboard plan. It was super fun and spicy in modern. Would it transition to legacy? Expect continual adjustments...
I saw a list online with a
Nissa, Steward of Elements
in the main. That seems spicy. I might give that a try instead of or in addition to the library.
