I really like the color combination for Bant ( and for control, and for a history of heavy hitting creatures), and I'm a fan of the Exalted mechanic, so I put two and two together and started working on this deck.

  • Qasali Pridemage & Ethercaste Knight are both great 2-drops that both have the Exalted effect. Qasali Pridemage can double well as utility, and Ethercaste Knight serves as a relatively good blocker in the early stages.

  • Rafiq of the Many and Sublime Archangel for obvious reasons, along with Finest Hour for that extra oomph.

  • Stoic Angel is good to have in my opinion, ideally you'll only ever be attacking with a single creature, so the opponent is the only one that will actually suffer for it.

  • Jenara, Asura of War serves as the main Beater in the deck. 3/3, flying, and can be pumped with relative ease. Coupled with all the Exalted, she can easily become a force to be reckoned with.

  • Sigil of Valor for extra firepower. I pulled 2 of these from my half of an Origins booster box, and it seems like it would complement an Exalted deck very well.

  • Birds of Paradise for mana fixing (I'm aware Noble Hierarch is better in almost every way in this deck, but it's a little too pricey for my taste. I definitely plan to pick up a playset eventually however)

  • Elspeth, Knight-Errant for her second +1, which pumps the attacker and gives them evasion to get over the majority of blockers, and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes for his first +1, which is basically a more permanent version of Elspeth's second +1, minus the Flying.

  • Congregation at Dawn lets me fetch whatever I need to get the wheels rolling. Be it a couple extra Birds of Paradise to handle mana fixing, or Jenara, Asura of War, Sublime Archangel, and Rafiq of the Many to get everything ready for the massive slaps.

  • Voidslime & Render Silent to prevent shit from hitting the fan, Path to Exile once the aforementioned shit does hit the fan.

  • Aqueos Form to make the attacker untouchable. Letting the attacker of an exalted deck through can be a death sentence in most cases, this pretty much takes the choice away from the defender (The Scry is neat too)

  • Bident of Thassa for card draw. With a lot of Flying effects and Aqueos Form, attacking creatures will almost always be able to land their hits succesfully. If Stoic Angel is on the field, the Activated Ability can really mess up the opponents board state.

Haven't had the chance to try it out IRL yet, but it works pretty well in the playtester, and some casual games with friends through Cockatrice have also turned out very well. I probably still have to tweak it though, particularly in the mana department, It's the first time I actually try building a 3-color deck outside of Commander, and I've noticed it's quite a bit harder to handle the mana fixing with a smaller card base. I didn't want to put too many shocklands and burn myself out for the sake of speed, and I didn't want to drag in a Prismatic Omen or a Chromatic Lantern (would rather keep those slots for other stuff).

Either way, I look forward to suggestions & comments!
