  • All the incentives for no one to attack you (mana tax for creatures attacking and creatures that have negative impacts on opponents through death)

  • 2 good walls

  • a few good counterspells and tutors

  • Stuffy doll + Pariah = no one will ever attack you

  • Moat & stormtide = no land attacks

  • Ways to deal with discards, creature control, and flying.

  • If they destroy your enchants, bring them back with replenish.

  • Win with buffed commander, fatty's (like ulamog) cheated in after defenses in place, or through cyclonic rift.

  • ramp and card draw through land tax and phyrexian arena respectively

TBH, I didn't realize how broken zur was. You can just basically have the game in your pocket by turn 4 or 5 (depending on whether you have lightning greaves out). As soon as Zur declares an attack for the first time, grab vanishing for him. At this point if you have two blue mana he's untouchable via phasing. Next get him shielded by faith to make him indestructible. Then put pariah on him to make you functionally unkillable. I'm probably going to make the same kind of deck with Merieke as the commander instead because this is a bit too queso.

Edit: Replaced edge of the divinity with GAA upon suggestion; Changed out cloak of mists and mesa enchantress for enchanted evening/ aura thief combo; replaced copy artifact with attrition to combo with aura thief and martyr's bond. If possible can someone explain how a aoe mass enchantment removal could still hit zur with vanishing if your always pocketing mana to phase out (afterwards i would always pocket 4 blue if possible) and how you would be able to die after the pariah/shielded by faith combo.
