Sideboard

Kind of a mid-rangey combat oriented deck. I play a lot of tutor effects to get specific things, but really I'm just aiming to ramp hard into an early play to set up a turn 5 - 6 Samut and swing for lots of damage. Probably it is too slow against competitive/stax/combo. First draft feedback appreciated.

In testing I've noticed that Rhonas is a definite standout. He works well with a number of other cards in the deck (Odric, Lunarch Marshal, Sword of Feast and Famine) and he is also a beater himself when I have virtually any buff effect already on board, or just an excess of mana.

I'm working on more cuts. Swapped Hero of Bladehold for Kodama's Reach. After testing I found bladehold underwhelming, and I've also been thinking I need more ways to ramp. Right now, Aura of Silence seems like a good replacement for Aura Shards. I've played the shards in Derevi and been impressed by its value, but I don't tend to cast more than 4 creatures in a game with Samut, and Aura of Silence is a much better top deck. If I was leaning into tokens I'd probably play it.
