Llanowar Elves: provides mana ramp to play/equip the equipment faster, kick Untamed Kavu, and activate Shalai, Voice of Plenty's ability.
Champion of the Flame/Valduk, Keeper of the Flame/Danitha Capashen, Paragon: the reason for the deck to begin with. pretty obvious WOTC is pushin an equipment/aura deck, and i'd be a fool not to include these cards. let me put it this way. when i told my buddy what Valduk, Keeper of the Flame does, I accidentally neglected the mana cost and rarity. his response was "let me guess. its a 5 mana rare". when i told him "nope. 3 mana uncommon" he didn't believe me and made me pull out my smartphone to prove it.
Untamed Kavu: excellent keywords for taking advantage of power buffs from equipment, and its kicker makes it good in the late game as well.
Shalai, Voice of Plenty: flying makes excellent use of equipment, she protects not only me but my other creatures as well, 4 toughness gets her out of range of most burn effects, and she has a very effective mana sink.
Short Sword: best 1 mana equipment for quickly racking up bonuses from Champion of the Flame or Valduk, Keeper of the Flame.
Dowsing Dagger
: decent power boost, and also provides ramp if i need it to kick an Untamed Kavu or activate the ability of Shalai, Voice of Plenty.
Forebear's Blade: sizable power boost, excellent keywords (yes they overlap with Untamed Kavu, but the kavu isn't one of the primary equipment holders anyway), and saves me mana by re-equipping itself for free.
Lightning Strike: i had to have at least one form of removal in the deck, and this was the obvious choice for its versatility since it can hit planeswalkers or just go straight to an opponents dome.
