This is my Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck. The whole idea is for it too be "wrath-proof".

Basically, what this means is that I don't want my board to be set back by the casting of a Wrath of God, whether I cast it or my opponents do.
Derevi helps with this because he always costs 4, no matter how many times he dies. Plus, you can cast him at instant speed, even without a Vedalken Orrery or Leyline of Anticipation.

One of my favorite ways to protect my creatures is with an old school keyword; phasing! Basically using Teferi's Veil means that you can attack and then cast a Wrath in the second main phase, and then all your creatures will phase back in before your next untap step.

There are other ways to protect your creatures as well. Some are as simple as countering the wraths you don't want to resolve with Dissipate or Faerie Trickery. I find that Render Silent is a counterspell that's criminally underplayed. There are also things like Darksteel Plate to give your dudes indestructible or Nim Deathmantle to bring them back. If worse comes to worse you can use Roon of the Hidden Realm to blink out one guy until end of turn.

Although, sometimes you want your creatures to die. The best of these are Archon of Justice and Yosei, the Morning Star. But there's always Solemn Simulacrum as well.

Other than that suit up Derevi with Bonehoard or Behemoth Sledge and go to town. There are plenty of legends to make use of Hero's Blade, especially flashing in Derevi.
