Deck Notes/Philosophy

My playgroup has a ban on going infinite in any way and so this deck is constructed to not abuse any readily known infinite combo loops. Our play group does allow combos to be included in decks with the condition that they are not used to create infinite or near-infinite loops.

The Decks Win Conditions

This deck wins by using a mass resurrection spell with Craterhoof Behemoth and Odric, Lunarch Marshal in the graveyard along side a few creatures. If you are able to it is preferable to also protect this attack with Grand Abolisher or Dragonlord Dromoka when you resurrect your team.

Combo Examples:

Buried Alive + Living Death (This is the cheapest combo at 8 mana)

Buried Alive + Twilight's Call (This combo is best when you already have a non-interaction creature in play)

Survival of the Fittest + Living Death / Twilight's Call

Living Death / Twilight's Call + Concordant Crossroads (This combo is used if Odric, Lunarch Marshal has been exiled.

Finale of Devastation X = 10 fetching a Craterhoof Behemoth can end 3 opponents pretty easily with a few creatures lying around.

Doom Whisperer (This card can mill you past the other combo pieces until you find a mass resurrection spell)

The Toolbox

Acidic Slime mainly deals with problematic lands, but also kills artifacts and enchantments.

Ashen Rider Deals with planeswalkers and indestructible permanents

Bane of Progress Our board wipe of choice for artifacts and enchantments

False Prophet Our creature board wipe of choice. Sometimes you are forced to use it without Viscera Seer , Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar to "save" your team.

Felidar Guardian can blink your Bojuka Bog . This card can also allow you to "untap" your Birthing Pod and Pod any 3 CMC creature into a 5 or 6 CMC creature in a single turn assuming you have enough mana/life. 3 CMC Creature -> Felidar Guardian -> Karmic Guide / Phyrexian Delver -> 6 CMC Creature.

Ravenous Chupacabra Our single target creature removal of choice. I used to run Palace Jailer until I found out he recasts opponents commanders out of the command zone.

Spore Frog Sometimes you need to protect yourself from monsters like Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon .

Sun Titan is a card you can tutor out with Survival of the Fittest if you can see it is about to be destroyed to pick it back up the next turn. It also allows you extra mana on combo turns if you add it into the Buried Alive pile.

Sylvan Safekeeper can be added to Buried Alive piles if opponents have their graveyards filled with cards like Venser, Shaper Savant or opposing Ravenous Chupacabra . This card can also be used to defend cards like Voidstone Gargoyle .

Voidstone Gargoyle is a catch-all for activated abilities or terrifying commanders. Can also stop an opposing Spore Frog resurrected on a combo turn by naming it. I used to run Phyrexian Revoker in this slot, but it had a tendency to die on combo turns to my own Bane of Progress .

Ulvenwald Hydra fetches mainly Bojuka Bog or Mosswort Bridge and sometimes Phyrexian Tower .

Woodland Bellower mainly fetches Fierce Empath to get a big bad tutor demon.

Craterhoof Behemoth with enough creatures can put 3 opponents in the ground. He doesn't have to use the graveyard.

Fierce Empath can fetch Dragonlord Dromoka if playing against blue control decks.

Gray Merchant of Asphodel is this decks life gain of choice. My play group banned me from using Resolute Archangel I would replace to angel if you want the deck to be stronger.

Karmic Guide allows us to cheat on mana costs with cards like Ashen Rider and Craterhoof Behemoth .

Phyrexian Delver sometimes this takes priority over Karmic Guide when you are using Birthing Pod value lines. This is because Phyrexian Delver sticks around for more than 1 turn without investing more mana.

Doom Whisperer a trick with this card you can use is tutoring to a card and drawing it with immediately with Nurturing Peatland , Silent Clearing or Horizon Canopy .

Birthing Pod aside from being an excellent tutor this card also allows us to mess with people hoping to hold up interaction for our combo turns. We can turn a 1 CMC creature into a Grand Abolisher or a 5 CMC creature into a Dragonlord Dromoka . If they pass priority on the pod activation they are done for.

Examples of some cards that are banned in my Meta

All mana positive rocks

Dual Lands, Ancient Tomb and Cabal Coffers

Demonic Tutor , Vampiric Tutor and Imperial Seal

Protean Hulk

Mindslicer and Sadistic Hypnotist

Yosei, the Morning Star

Rest in Peace and Leyline of the Void

Aven Mindcensor

Linvala, Keeper of Silence

Our meta mainly bans cards that stop people from contributing to the game and cards that feel horrible to play against.

Cards I don't Run

Dryad Arbor Yes I know you can cheese this out turn 1 with Green Sun's Zenith , but in an average game this is a liability to our strategy. It is essentially a land that comes in tapped. It dies to board wipes. Karador can't cast it from the graveyard.

Satyr Wayfinder solid card but we cant take the risk of milling combo pieces into an opposing Bojuka Bog

Deathrite Shaman very powerful card, but can't always produce mana for us which is a problem. This deck is very mana hungry.
