This is an Emerge deck that works on producing mana quickly to drop bombs quickly. I decided to work on making the deck somewhat control, at least until I can drop the important creatures. Many decks using the Emerge ability try and abuse it through self-mill tactics and use cards such as Vessel of Nascency and Grapple with the Past. I am going a different route. I intend on dropping cards that send out Eldrazi scions to help pay for larger creatures. This strategy can be overwhelming when using sacrifice cons such as Drowner of Hope, and Zulaport Cutthroat's. I am using cards to keep my opponents creatures at bay, all while using the 'casting' abilities from my Emerge creatures. My friend pointed out most Emerge creatures have 'whenever you cast' clauses, which help them from getting countered 100% successfully.
Creatures;
Blisterpod; Sometimes you just need a creature that you can reliably block with to activate Zulaport Cutthroat's ability, sometimes you just need a mana ramp creature that'll trigger Zulaport Cutthroat's ability. Sometimes you need both, which is exactly what Blisterpod serves as.
Zulaport Cutthroat; Zula should help me stay at a healthy level above my opponents life total, all while acting as a secondary win-con.
Catacomb Sifter; This creature can act as a tutor and ultimately helps me ramp.
Foul Emissary; This creature helps me look for anything I need, it also serves as a board populator once he's been emerged.
Drowner of Hope; This guy is ridiculous, Drowner can help me completely lock down most games and when he starts saccing scions, he'll work great with Zulaport.
Matter Reshaper; With 3 CMC being the sweet spot in emerge decks, I find that his ability to search for a creature helps keep me one step ahead of my opponent.
Sifter of Skulls; I really like everything about this guy, his art is phenomenal, his ability helps keep my creatures from getting out-valued, he even serves as a decent beater himself.
Lashweed Lurker; I really enjoy using Lashweed to throw a creature with +1/+1 counters away, artifacts with counters away, and even some basic threats out of my way so I can bash face.
Elder Deep-Fiend; My personal favorite creature from Eldritch Moon helps me freeze a turn through tapping lands, freeze a combat step by flashing him in and tapping creatures, countering spells, by flashing him and tapping lands. He does everything this deck needs him to do, all while being a huge body that can trigger Catacomb Sifter and Zulaport Cutthroat's abilities.
Decimator of Provinces; If I drop this, I'm immediately ahead, if you don't answer him, I win.
Instant/Sorceries;
Bone Splinters; to kill something annoying and get death benefits.
Call the Scions; to get some semi ramp and to provide ammo, that is the Zulaport Cutthroat cannon.
Just the Wind; Something to serve as a bounce affect.
