Here is the most recent iteration of the Modern Merfolk deck I've been running for the past several months or so.

Significant changes are the removal of Remands and Mana Leak from the MB, and addition of 3x Spell Pierce MB. I've come to realize that, with this deck, you cannot afford to hold up 2-mana counterspells early in the game. Spell Pierce allows you to keep your fish army mostly intact for the first few turns without limiting the amount of threats you can put out, since we ideally want to kill our opponent as soon as possible.

I also brought in another Master of Waves MB, because that card is just too ridiculously good to run as less than at least a 3-of.

In my current local meta, where Affinity essentially does not exist, I've tweaked my sideboard to include another Swan Song and another Echoing Truth, as there are multiple Storm players as well as a B/W tokens player.
