In 'The Art of War,' master Sun Tzu said, "True excellence lies not in winning every battle, but in defeating your enemies without even fighting." Kongming, "Sleeping Dragon" demonstrated such a victory against Sima Yi, Wei Field Marshal in real life by disguising his impossibly outnumbered army as simple villagers. Sima Yi was sure that a great trap awaited him, and so he took his army and fled.

This deck uses a similar principle to achieve victory. Just as Kongming used tricks and manipulation to deal with Sima Yi's army, this deck utilizes disruptive spells that either limit the effectiveness of my opponent's spells, or just outright removes their "army" of creatures, all the while building up the resources to close out the game in one move. That's where Approach of the Second Sun comes in.

Step 1: Create card advantage and favourable draws with Telling Time & Sphinx's Revelation (Angelsong, Dissolve, and cycling lands can also help with this.

Step 2: Disrupt your opponent/s. Counterspells, damage prevention, life gain, and removal accomplish this very nicely.

Step 3: Cast Approach of the Second Sun a couple of times to end the game without even needing to cast a creature or deal any damage.
