Sideboard

Maybeboard

I just got into Magic a couple weekends ago, so here's my shot at an aggro deck with some burn cards splashed in.

The idea is to get Rakdos Cackler out fast and coming out swinging from the start. Battle Brawler is a nice 2 drop that benefits from this and gains first strike. Fists of the Demigod turns both these guys into death machines; for 3 mana, by turn 2 Rakdos Cackler has 4/4 first strike and wither. This combination is beautiful. If you don't kill a creature straight off, wither makes them hit like marshmallows and builds longevity for your enchanted guys.

Goblin Wardriver is another solid 2 drop to bump our creatures when they attack, which will be often. Borderland Marauder is a great, aggressive attacker, and Bloodsoaked Champion makes for an awesome chump blocker. Gatekeeper of Malakir , when kicked, helps keep your opponent's board clear for you to keep attacking.

Once you've got your early creatures down, drop Liliana's Caress and things get really fun. Burning Inquiry refreshes your hand, burns your opponent for 6 damage, and Abyssal Nocturnus, if it's on the board, gets pumped +2/+2 with fear. To add insult to injury, Funeral Charm is a 1 drop that forces them to discard even more and cost a couple life. Hellhole Rats by itself is an alright 4 drop, but in this case, when it helps empty someone's hand and hurts them twice for it, it's a hard card to pass up.

If you do run into trouble, Lightning Reaver will end the game very quickly with a Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and a swampwalk from Funeral Charm.

Sideboard picks essentially help fill your board. Low-cost creatures are on the main board as it stands now, and higher cost creatures with valuable abilities are on deck. Blightning still works very well with Liliana's Caress, and continues the theme of forcing discards resulting in loss of life. Desecration Demon is intended to swap with Lightning Reaver , since both have game-ending potential. Quest for the Nihil Stone is too powerful to pass up, so that's thrown in here as well.

There were a lot of interesting R/B cards that synergized with each other, so I put them in Maybeboard in case you like a combination. They didn't fit here exactly how I wanted, but they're still cool plays.

As with the other decks I've posted, I aimed for right around the $50 mark. This one comes in a little over, but not by too much, and swapping out a legendary land for a basic brings it right back down.

Any feedback is welcome and appreciated! Thanks for checking this deck out!
