It started as Stompy, then I splashed for Blood Moon and Lightning Bolt, now it is heading in the direction of Gruul Midrange with almost none of the original Stompy cards still in the main deck.

Arbor Elf, Blood Moon #4, and Stomping Ground have all been ordered, which will shore up the basics of the deck, though it will still not be optimal.

Long term plans are to acquire Verdant Catacombs, Seasoned Pyromancer, Klothys, God of Destiny, and Chandra, Torch of Defiance as those cards all do serious work in the deck, but we're talking hundreds of dollars, so for now I'm on Cragcrown Pathway , Gruul Spellbreaker, Domri, Anarch of Bolas, and extra copies of Scavenging Ooze.

Round 1: Beat Tron 2-1

Round 2: Lost to Burn 1-2

Round 3: Lost to Abzan Reanimator 0-2

Round 4: Lost to Jund 0-2

Things got off to a good start, beating Tron for the 2nd week in a row, but when downhill from there. Burn was actually a very close match, my opponent winning game 3 with 1 point of life left. I misplayed Gruul Spellbreaker really badly, incorrectly prioritizing haste and leaving it vulnerable to Searing Blaze as a 3/3 instead of giving it that all important 4th point of toughness. I won't make that particular mistake against burn again. Round 3 was a total beating and made me realize that Scavenging Ooze is not sufficient graveyard interaction vs. something as fast as Bone Shards -> Persist. I have since added Relic of Progenitus to the sideboard. Round 4 saw the revenge of the Jund player, who I had beaten in our first two meetings. In game 2 I drew all 3 Phyrexian Revokers to try and shut down opposing planeswalkers, but they fell like dominoes to removal, Liliana's Weakness mode, and finally, a ping from Wrenn and Six. X/1's are just too fragile to carry such an important task, so I've dropped them and gone with my single copy of Pithing Needle instead.
