Creature (2)

A death and taxes deck that I have. I love destroying the opponent's lands and find this deck to be fun to play, being at a near aggro speed while getting to destroy their lands and watch as they can't search libraries thanks to Leonin Arbiter.

Eldrazi Displacer is to take advantage of ETB with Flickerwisp and Restoration Angel.

Kitchen Finks a card I did not get at first but after playing against it a few times I realized why the card is good, good blocker tough to remove and can be blinked if it has a persist counter and to keep gaining life from it.

The card that makes this deck run is Thalia, Guardian of Thraben gaining tempo with the tax on non-creature spells and Judge's Familiar punishing them if they do not have extra mana available and making them play around a 1 drop. With main board Vryn Wingmare it can end up a nightmare for decks that are heavy non-creature spells.

I have chosen Brimaz, King of Oreskos over Blade Splicer and this is because I like the more aggressive play with Brimaz being able to attack and block and producing tokens without needing to be blinked by Flickerwisp or Restoration Angel.

Aether Vial and Path to Exile are the backbone allowing me to use my lands to destroy opponents while still playing creatures and path is a 1 mana removal spell and with Leonin Arbiter has no drawback.

Mangara of Corondor is also a nice way to remove anything giving me a problem. I can also use it with the stack to tap him and choose a target and use either Restoration Angel or Flickerwisp off of Aether Vial to blink Mangara and remove their permanent and still have Mangara stay on the battlefield. This is helpful in game 1 if there is something I cannot deal with or if I want to keep removing lands. It is not as strong as the legacy combo with Karakas but is still powerful and not expected.

The Sideboard is still a work in progress. I have Leyline of Sanctity for burn decks. Burrenton Forge-Tender is for storm and Ad Naseum decks.

Aven Mindcensor is for decks that play fetches and search their library a lot.

Ghostly Prison is to lock out creatures. Runed Halo is for when I have no way to deal with a card it helps to keep that card off the board or be useful if it hits the board.

Kataki, War's Wage is for affinity.

Relic of Progenitus is to help against Tarmogoyf or Snapcaster Mage and any other graveyard interactions.

Spirit of the Labyrinth is for heavy draw decks.

Sword of Fire and Ice is such a powerful card. It buffs a creature, gets card draw advantage and also does a little more damage the card is an all-star for equipment and usually can push through with so many creatures that have flying.

I want to work in 2 Ethersworn Canonist I just do not know what I would prefer to take out of the sideboard for now.

It was a 4 round swiss. 1st match was against Emeria Control, I had great hands and won 2-1

2nd match was against Storm, this was an absolute lopsided game with having numerous taxes out on the field and won 2-0

3rd match was Affinity, this was a tough round. I was outmatched by Arcbound Ravager game 1. game 2 I had a turn 2 kataki, war wage and that led to a quick game 2 for me. Game 3 I was able to just keep killing his creatures by using Aether Vial to lay blocks and won in a grind of game 3.

4th match I was completely and utterly dominated by Abzan and more specifically hand disruption into Lingering Souls.

Overall I was more than thrilled to have the night go the way it did and finishing 3-1 and placing second.
