In life there are only two things you HAVE to do: Die and pay taxes. It is Ashiok's will that your creatures be killed and you pay a portion of your spells to further his cause (taxes on mana spent may include, but are not limited to, up to 100% of spell resolution).

This is my take on a Dimir Control deck in standard. I have always enjoyed the themes of Black and Blue, but I have not attempted a control centric deck until now.

Liliana Vess, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver , Prognostic Sphinx are the win con cards, so the strategy is pretty straight forward. Let's Kill and Counter until we can gain the battlefield advantage with one of these.

I have a Temple of Malady Temple of Malice and Temple of Silence in here to add to my Scry ability.
Dissipate is here to help with those nasty cards that sit in the graveyard when countered (i.e. Bloodsoaked Champion) and we have Silence the Believers to add to the exile pile. This comes in handy if you miss a counter on one of those pesky Gods (plus, I won't spit at the strive).

Help me make my Dimir deck work in standard!

Your malevolent leader always encourages petition and lobbying for changes to the framework of the law, but remember in the end it is Ashiok who decides who will live, who will die and what you may cast.
