Sideboard

I usually run midrange decks, such as my Orzhov Midrange I've been using for FNM, then the other day for fun I was reading about peoples opinions on the varied cards I use for my Orzhov deck till I got to Master of the Feast. I went from the wizards page on the card to an article from channel fireball on mono-black agro. I realized I had mostly all the cards already, and I've seen one of my friends mono-red aggro deck in action and thought it looked pretty fun, so here I am trying my hand at it.

It's all about getting down as many creatures and swinging as fast as you can be for your opponent can possibly respond. most everything is a 2 power 1 drop except things like pain seer that help you refill your hand, spiteful returned that can push through extra damage and has bestow, and of course the fatties like master of the feast and herald of torment. the whip is for late(ish) game to regain some life lost by pain seer and herald. It has the potential to have 6 power out by turn 2 and deal 12 damage by turn 3, making turn 4 or 5 wins a very definite possibility. I am definitely looking forward to testing this deck out at some upcoming FNM tournaments, any help would be appreciated.

I went 6-0 at FNM with this deck for first out of 38 and 9 packs! Unfortunately i was unaware that you can't preorder boxes with store credit so i traded them in and now have to wait till i save up enough actual money to buy the box once it comes out for 20$ more =(

Here is a rundown of the decks I faced (that I can remember)

rd 1. mono black beats

The mirror is one of my worst matchups, invalidating my doom blades and mogis's marauders, which are key parts of my deck. not to mention nighthowler just grows into a house. he took game one trading things with deathtouch against my little guys then beat with a nighthowler while I was stuck with a doom blade in my hand for the entire game. I sided in dark betrayals for game two naturally and won that. In game three he had double nighthowlers and looked like he would have it, but I pulled it out through hero's downfall and flying for 2-1

rd 2.

I don't remember =S

rd 3. dragons

Standard big red dragons that get bigger, mixed in with circle of flame and rabblemaster. I took the first game fast, second game I sided in things like brain maggots to try to get threats out of his hand in the beginning and thought I would lose for sure when I saw 2 anger of the gods, rabblemaster, and circle of flames. somehow I pulled it of though and won 2-0

rd 4.

I don't remember =S

rd 5. mono white enchantments

This deck was interesting to play against. At first I thought it was heroic because I looked at one of his matches earlier and he had phalanx leader and fabled hero out. I won the first game quick, then I learned in the second what I was really playing against when he got ethereal armor and eidolon of countless battles on his fiendslayer paladin real early swinging for 7 with first strike/lifelink that I couldn't take out with any of my removal. The third game I got his life total to a manageable amount before he managed to do the same. unfortunately he wasn't enchanting fiendslayer, so I took it out and finished him in the air.

rd 6. mono green devotion This deck should really have it's name changed to Devotion to Nissa using Nykthos, Shrine to Polukranos. He swarmed the board with mana dorksthen used devotion for mana, voyaging satyr to get more devotion mana then monstrosity on polukranos to blow the field and win with a big/big polukranos. my problem with this deck was 1. he had a lot of things to block my aggro with, givin the many many mana dorks, and 2. there was always something else I needed to kill before I could hit him, whether it be a polukranos, or nissa, or garruk. I lost the first game to a prime example of how his deck works, then won the second game by going through all 4 of my mogis's marauders. It all came down to the third game with 4 minutes left of the round, I won it through sheer speed, beating him down before he could get more then a few mana dorks on the board.
