A powerfull punishment/goodstuff deck that ensures your opponents truly think about the cost of their spells. Don't expect to keep Kaervek on the field for long, but give them a shock for their impertinence and play your other threats

Some budget options can be to Cut:

Demonic Tutor -> Dark Petition

Basilisk Collar -> Whip of Erebos- currently testing Whip to see if the higher cmc but added utility is more effective -

Vampiric Tutor -> Sidisi, Undead Vizier
- Nothing can really replace Vampiric tutor, but if you can't afford it or can't find one, Sidisi can be abused for repeatable tutoring.

Damnation -> Languish- Same cmc, Creatures killed can't be regenerated, even hits indestrucable creatures (unlike Damnation), however, it only hits creatures toughness 4 or less, which makes it significantly weaker when push comes to shove. It being roughly $50 cheaper makes it an attractive alternative to those who can't afford the Damnation

Crucible of Worlds - > A mana rock- As there is not really a good option to replace this with in b/r, if you can't afford it, then just throw in a mana rock to help you accelerate-

Many of the creatures command a price tag of $5+ and while this adds up very quickly, I'd advise against swapping them out for cheaper creatures, there is a very good reason why they cost 5+ when many if any don't see play outside of edh

The Land base, is pretty easy to modify for those who are looking for a cheaper alternative, but be prepared for a deck that is slower, unfortunately tap lands really don't cut it when you can afford
