also have the same ability if you want extra ammo. What seperates Codex Shredder from them is it's second ability. and to return "target card from your graveyard to hand". This will allow us to bring back any of our wincons or utility pieces.
Ghoulcaller's Bell
- Pings both libraries at the same time.
Pyxis of Pandemonium - Exiles the top card of each library. This is great for anything that gets shuffled back into the library. Looking at you Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or any artifact hate card. It's second ability reads "never use".
Ensnaring Bridge - With 0 creatures in the deck we need some form of defense and this provides that defense. We can dump our hands fairly quick and by turn 3-4 have an empty hand.
Nihil Spellbomb - , sac, exile target player's graveyard. Also, it gives us the option to draw a card for one .
Sun Droplet - Another 2 drop that's perfect for the long haul. Slowly replenishes our life total at every upkeep.
Profane Memento - Modern is a creature heavy format and this card just might work to help stabilize our life total along side Sun Droplet. The slots can be easily replaced by our side board tech.
Damnation - A board wipe that stops creatures from regenerating. Stops affinity's Arcbound Ravager shenanigans.
City of Brass - taps for any mana, but does one damage to you. Triggers Sun Droplet
Darksteel Citadel - an indestructable artifact land for Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas.
Ghost Quarter - land destruction and also a cheap fetch land when targeting Darksteel Citadel.
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - we have a lot of black costing spells and would to use them as soon as possible.
Glimmervoid - help fixes our mana without pinging us for 1 life.
Inquisition of Kozilek - limited in what it can grab, but the majority of threats in modern are 3 CMC or lower.
Thoughtseize - takes any nonland card of our choice. The only downside is the 2 life it takes, but we have cards to regain that life back.
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas - Doesn't turn our artifacts into creatures like Tezzeret the Seeker . Does direct damage twice the amount of artifacts we control.
Hurkyl's Recall - Doesn't destroy affinity, but it does set them back a couple of turns. Allows us to sit under the bridge and laugh when they sacrifice artifacts to Arcbound Ravager and bounce back Ornithopter.
Leyline of Sanctity - stops mill, discard, and burn in their tracks.
Rule of Law - Stops storm/ascendancy in their tracks. Grapeshot for 1 damage and Empty the Warrens for 2 1/1 goblins takes all the gas out of storm.
Grafdigger's Cage - stops everything coming in from the library or the graveyard.
Wear / Tear - target artifact or enchantment destruction.
