It is well known that people generally work better and more persistently when striving for a reward than when attempting to avoid a punishment or negative outcome.

Slowly becoming a combo deck, found Hermit Druid to be boring so now I have a Kiki pile.

I've also cut a lot of Propaganda effects, turns out I don't really need them.

Cutting Arcane Denial was probably a mistake as was cutting some Fetch Lands, Chasm Skulker, Kessig Wolf Run, Ulvenwald Hydra, Swan Song or Keening Stone.
