It's a little casual deck I've been brewing for some time, mostly to play against new people (including my brother who recently picked up the game) and giving them somewhat of fighting chance. I haven't built the deck completely as of yet since I'm missing a few pieces (Tishana, Shanna and two Journeys) but I honestly think the deck is pretty solid.
It's not Worlds worthy obviously, but I very much enjoy the overall idea Jodah, Archmage Eternal provides us and even though some would argue it's not a Standard card but an EDH one, I still like playing him.
The win condition is to cheat the expensive creatures ( Palladia-Mors , Zacama, Primal Calamity , Darigaaz Reincarnated ) with the help of our buddy - Jodah, Archmage Eternal and in the meantime, protect ourselves against early-on aggression with a few legendary bodies, such as Danitha Capashen, Paragon , Kwende, Pride of Femeref and of course our anthem-giver - Arvad the Cursed. Even if you don't manage to cast Zacama, Palladia or Darigaaz, perhaps because they got countered or killed, the threat combination of Kwende, Jodah, Arvad and Danitha is still very, very solid - this is 25 damage with a combination of Lifelink, Vigilance, Flying, Double Strike and Deathtouch! Our early game is also plated with Journey to Eternity and Hadana's Climb which further help us boost our aggression, along with Profane Procession to control opponent's big threats , we have Thaumatic Compass for ramping and when it flips it helps us control aggressive decks.
For spells, I've chosen Urza's Ruinous Blast which doesn't harm our creatures at all but wipes everything the opponent has. Against single threats, I believe a pair of Ancient Animus would suit just fine, especially if combined with deathtouch, such as Arvad the Cursed or simply with huge attack, such as Zacama, Primal Calamity
Cards I'd consider, but I'm not too sure about:
Shalai, Voice of Plenty - probably the card I'm considering the most, has evasion, pumps the rest of our creatures, protects them a lot. I'd possible run two copies of it instead of Tatyova, but I'm worried about draw Tatyova provides. What do you guys think?
Lyra Dawnbringer - an absolute beast of a card and playable in almost any white-oriented deck, absolutely insane when combined with the anthem from card:Arvad and ruthless when combined with card:Kwende. The only thing holding me back is the price, Aunt Lyra is quite hefty in coin for what she provides us.
Vona, Butcher of Magan
- another legendary creature with lifelink, helps us remove any threat on the battlefield for the small loan of 7 life. Honestly, very good card, but doesn't combine well with Jodah, Archmage Eternal at all.
Blackblade Reforged - well, we're running all legendary creatures, so why not? It combos very well with Danitha and it can be an alternative win condition.
Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage - I'm honestly tempted to flash creatures in my opponents turn. He's got nice combat evasion and is somewhat of a threat.
Muldrotha, the Gravetide - rather good card, I like it a lot, helps us return creature cards from the graveyard, much like Atzal, Cave of Eternity
Verix Bladewing - the only thing stopping me is that Jodah's alternative cost doesn't apply to this guy and for 7 mana you're essentially bringing 8/8 split in two bodies, while with Jodah, you can bring 6/6, 7/7 or even 9/9 power for mere 5 mana ...
