When a friend was getting into modern and asked me what he should make, I told him Crabs and tried to convince him it was a real deck. I tried to keep the gag going for quite a while.

Then, I saw Iceberg Cancrix and noted it’s similarity to Hedron Crab and thought maybe, just maybe, that that’s enough redundancy to make a goofy yet operational deck. I’m not trying to win any events, just trying to amuse people with something different and win sometimes.

1. put out your Hedron Crab s and Iceberg Cancrix es that mill upon landfall.

2. Ramp with Harrow and Sakura-Tribe Scout while protecting yourself with Deprive and Soratami Savant

3. Assemble the combo of Retreat to Coralhelm + Sakura-Tribe Scout + Trade Routes or Oboro, Palace in the Clouds + Retreat to Coralhelm + Sakura-Tribe Scout for infinite landfall, meaning infinite mill.

4. If that falls apart, a few Scapeshift s should get you there.

Again, it’s supposed to be a bit janky and budget and the presence of the crabs is important for the inside joke. But if there’s ways to juice it up while retaining those ideas, I’m interested in hearing them. Especially would like help constructing a sideboard. Thanks!
